POLICY MEMO 07-002 - Interim Change to TXSG Reg 600-10 dtd 26Apr05.

 

SUBJECT:  Policy for Promotion of Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs).

 

  1. Effective 19 May 2007 the TXSG Command Sergeant Major  will review all requests for promotion of NCOs.   This is a permanent change to TXSG Regulation 600-10, Chapter 3, paragraph 3-17.a. thru l. and requirement of successful completion of courses in Appendix J.

 

  1. Additional course completion criteria is outlined by rank below;

FEMA Course titles are;                                                                                                                       

IS-100:  Introduction to Incident Command System (ICS)

IS-200:  ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents

IS-700:  National Incident Management System (NIMS)

IS-800:  National Response Plan

IS-546:  Continuity of Operations (COOP) Awareness Course

IS-547:  Introduction to Continuity of Operations (COOP)

IS-275: Role of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in Community Preparedness, Response, and Recovery

 

  1. Enlisted members must meet all the minimum criteria in TXSG Regulation 600-10 and must have a letter of endorsement from the Senior Enlisted Advisor (SEA) from the Regiment, Wing, Maritime Regiment at the TXSG Medical Brigade.  This is a required document that is part of the accession, transfer or promotion packet.  The SEA from both losing and gaining command must initial concurrence on  each  transfer

 

  1. Approved promotions will automatically generate a new TXSG Active Identification Card that will be sent with the orders through the Regimental S1, Wing A1 or Medical Brigade G1 and they will send to subordinate Battalions, Air Support & Medical Groups.

 

  1. Promotion requests will be returned without action (RWOA) for NCOs that have not completed the above courses required for the new rank or that do not have SEA letter of endorsement.
