75 YEARS OF EDUCATION

HOUSTON—Houston Community College recently lost 75 years of educational excellence with the double retirement of Southwest College President Sue Cox, Ed. D. (left) and Job Placement Officer Debbie Herring. Dr. Cox came to HCC 32 years ago after teaching in the Austin ISD and at the American Community School in Athens, Greece; Herring spent her entire 33-year career with HCC. In what she jokingly called her “last official duty”, Dr. Cox is shown presenting a Certificate of Appreciation to Herring for not only her many years at the College, but also her outstanding service to HCC students and area employers in her capacity as Job Placement Officer.
