HCC SOUTHWEST HOSTS FINAL CAREER PLANNING CONFERENCE NOV. 11
HOUSTON— Houston Community College Southwest and its Achieve the Dream team will host the final of three “College and Career Planning” conferences on Saturday, November 11, from 9:00 a.m.–12:00 noon at the West Loop Center, 5601 West Loop South. The event is free and open to HCC, college and high school students interested in exploring the benefits of a variety of educational and career paths. Attendees will be treated to a continental breakfast and then provided with information concerning workforce and academic programs (requirements, job outlook, and potential earnings) offered at HCC. The students are also afforded the opportunity to visit one-on-one with faculty and staff from each of the programs.
The “College and Career Planning” seminars are part of the nationwide Achieve the Dream Program. HCC is one of 27 colleges across the nation selected to participate in the program under a four-year grant from the Lumina Foundation for Education. The program is designed to increase success of underserved students at community colleges. |
