Property Management Program

 

HCC has worked in partnership with the Houston Apartment Association to develop a unique program designed to prepare individuals for careers in mulit-family property management.  The course is also for individuals who want to improve proficiency and update skills in the property management industry. The course is ideal for Assistant property managers and individuals wanting to enter the property management profession but lack college credentials.

Cisco Certified Networking Professional:  CCNP - The Next Step In Cisco Certification

After CCNA is CCNP training.   CCNP offers high technology training in CISCO Systems.  Currently, four classes are offered that relate to each exam section for the CCNP.  Students who successfully complete each course can then take the related Cisco exams.  When the student passes all the CCNP exams they will receive CCNP certification.

AutoCAD

This course provides skill development in the performance of navigating an Enterprise Resource Software Program and explains the theory behind its operation. SAP Software will be used to illustrate how an Enterprise Resource Program can have a far-reaching effect on an organization.   1. How will this training benefit me?

It will open the door for you to obtain good positions in businesses where the SAP application is used to manage operations.

  1. Are there any prerequisites?

Yes, you should understand the purpose of large scale, enterprise-wide systems such as SAP, PeopleSoft, SUN or HP.  You should also know the basic functions of applications and Information Technology.  Having experience in programming, system architecture or database systems, such as Access, will help you understand the concepts and classroom material.  

  1. What SAP module will I be using in class?

  1. What type of position does this training prepare me for?

  1. Are there standardized tests to take after completing this training?

Yes, there are certification tests that can be taken.  However, positions are normally obtained by the individual demonstrating their SAP system knowledge to businesses.

  1. Who can register?

 Anyone over the age of 17 is eligible to register in CEU classes at HCC.  If you are a returning student, only a hold on your account would prevent a registration.

  1. How do I register?

  1. When is payment due?

Payment is due at the time of registration unless corporate billing arrangements have been made.  HCC accepts, VISA, Master Card, and American Express.  HCC also accepts debit cards.  For online registration, go to How to Register.

  1.  Can my company pay for my tuition?

Yes, your company can arrange for billing and payment of these classes.   Arrangements must be made at least five business days prior to the start of class.  Contact

  1.  Is financial aide available?

At this time, financial aide for Continuing Education classes at Houston Community College is not available

  1. Is there a payment plan?

HCC does provide a payment plan option for these classes.  The option allows you to pay for the class in two equal payments.  One payment is due when you register and set the plan up.  The second payment is due halfway through the class.  

You may contact Houston Community College at713-718-7720 to set up an appointment to complete the paperwork.  Paperwork may also be sent to you via fax or e-mail if you prefer.  However, the payments must be made at the Gulfton location, 5407 Gulfton, and will remain on file with the Gulfton Cashier (713-718-7753).  The cashier's window is open Monday to Thursday from  9 am to 7 pm and  Friday from 9 am to 1 pm.  There is an additional $25.00 fee to set up the payment plan and is due with the first payment.

  1. What is the HCC refund policy for Continuing Education Units?

A full refund for these classes will be made if a student withdraws prior to the first class date, or in the case of college error or class cancellation.  Refunds are processed as soon as possible but are handled through the HCC Bursar’s office. They are generally mailed four to six weeks following the last day to apply for a refund.  

Any refund mailed to the name and address on record is considered delivered. The Stop Payment Fee to reissue a refund check mailed to an incorrect address is $20. Tuition and fees paid directly to the institution by a sponsor, grants, loans, donor, or scholarship shall be refunded to the source rather than directly to the student. Fees paid by other third parties, such as friends or relatives, will be refunded directly to the student.

  1.  Will I earn Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) for these classes?

One CEU is 10 contact hours of successful participation/completion in an organized continuing education experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction and qualified instruction.  CEUs are not substituted for college credit hours, but rather are a means of reporting continuing education activities.  Transcripts listing CEU units satisfactorily completed are available on request. CEUs are recognized internationally as a measure of substantial professional education and training.   Each of these classes earns 4.6 CEU’s.

  1.  Is there any help with job placement after completing this training?

Yes, resume building and job placement service is available.
