September and October Hurricane Victims Fundraisers at Gulfton Net $1400

Ice Cream Social , organized by faculty member, Sharon Ellison, and level 4B collected $107.

GISO Pizza Sale raised $550.

Additional Fundraisers organized by our energetic faculty member, Rose Mary Schouten were:

- Evening Program Pizza Sale , $300.

- Level 2E pizza, salad and drink lunch, $100.

- Red beans and rice lunch for faculty and staff, prepared by Rose Mary, $155.

- Jambalaya lunch for faculty and staff, partnering with colleague Christine Tierney, $130.

Crawfish etoufee lunch for faculty and staff, partnering with John Miller, $70.

Proceeds from these events were given to various hurricane relief programs including the Star of Hope Women and Children's Center, HCC Scholarship Fund for Katrina Victims, Friends Service and others.

In addition to these efforts, the entire Gulfton family participated in the HCC Southwest College drive to collect nonperishable food, baby items, toiletries and school supplies for Katrina victims.
