Attendance: Class attendance is considered important
since the weight of course matter depends on the recognition and interpretation
of works of art. Partial attendance
(arriving very late leaving early without excuse) receives partial (P)
credit. In some cases, of course, there
may be a good reason for you not to attend, and in those cases I expect you to
contact me on or before the day of your absence. I expect you to call in sick
to class in the same manner you would call in sick to work. If you have special needs see me after
class. “Any student who needs to arrange reasonable accommodations must
contact the Disability Support Services Counselor at the beginning of each
semester. Faculty members are
authorized to provide only the accommodations requested by Disability Support
Service Office. Dr. Becky Hauri is the
Southwest College disabilities counselor.
Her telephone # is (713)718-7909.
Make-Up Policy: There will be no make-up of test. Opportunities for extra credit will be given throughout the semester.
Grading System: Evaluation will be based on the results
of quizzes (3), mid-semester and final
examination results, as well as, participation
in class discussion and studio activities.
These tests will combine essay, matching, multiple choice, true/false
and identification and are drawn from material presented through class
discussion of slides, textbook content, handouts, and video tapes. In addition, an essay, in which you analyze a work of art that you have personally
experienced is to be presented on the day of your final examination. Policy regarding scholastic dishonesty: Cheating on a
