Revisited: Huong Huynh, Robin Akkerman, John Schiro, Three HCCS Art Alumni 2005

RITA RESCHEDULED ART RECEPTION “REVISITED” OCTOBER 21

Because of Rita the art exhibition reception for "Revisited: Huong Huynh, Robin Akkerman, John Schiro," work of three HCC art alumni, has been rescheduled for Friday, October 21, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Southwest College Annex Gallery, 13645 Murphy Road, Suite 250, in Stafford. The opening is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served and many of the art works are for sale.

A little about the three artists works:

John Schiro’s acrylic and latex paint on large canvas, uses gravity and the viscosity of the paint to bring to life the process of  movement and his experiences taking a  stand against the traditional use of the brush.

Robin Akkerman’s work is best described as self reflection between the imagination and the living forms of our reality. Her love of mythical creatures, animal shapes and objects are seen throughout her work using acrylic paint, wood boxes with frames, and masonite.

Huong Huynh’s search for beauty is the underlying theme of her works, capturing the essence of her inspiration….a slice of light, a wisp of hair in the breeze.  The process and products of her work often depict the struggles and happiness that drives her life.
