At Houston Community College System - Southwest, we want to have your completed financial aid file by April 15 for returning students and by August 15 for new students. If you submit your completed financial aid file on or before the priority deadline you will be considered first-priority for federal campus-based aid (Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, TPEG Supplemental, and Work-Study).

In order for Houston Community College System - Southwest to receive the results of your FAFSA by our first-priority deadline, we strongly recommend that you file your FAFSA as soon as possible but no later than March 15. This will allow the federal government enough time to process your FAFSA and send the results to Houston Community College - Southwest prior to the April 15 deadline.

If you do not file your FAFSA by our first-priority deadline, please file as soon as you can; and, you will be considered for any aid that is still available, including the Pell Grant and student loans.
