IMED 1359 Writing for Multimedia Communications

3 (2 lecture, 4 lab)

Course Description: Written communication for multimedia environments including public web sites, blogs, and e-mail.

Learning Outcomes:  Investigate and practice information gathering techniques using face-to-face interviews and using Internet technology to conduct interviews. Employ writing techniques intended to target a general readership Internet audience, using elements of attribution of sources, clear writing style, and accurate and fair information. Explore approaches to preparing world-of-work documents such as résumés and correspondences with clients and employers. Analyze ethical considerations in dealing with Internet audiences and in achieving professional relationships via the Internet. Build a team for the purpose of producing an on-line publication that would change on a periodic basis. Work with server issues that provide the medium for Web publishing.
