ETWR 1373 Online Documentation

3 (2 lecture, 4 lab)

Course Description: An exploration of electronic technical documentation in business and industry, including Web-based solutions and CD-ROM/DVD-ROM presentations. Uses industry standard computer software to produce end product.

Learning Outcomes: Research a topic, select and organize the information, and write an effective and professional document. Use high-level computer technology to develop an interactive online application that electronically dispenses the information in the written materials. Apply team efforts to critique and polish the writing and electronic presentation. Create documents and apply paragraph and character format tags. Create and modify paragraph and character format tags. Design, create, and modify page layouts. Modify existing document templates. Import, copy, and modify page layouts. Insert cross-references to figures, tables, and other document sections Create, build, and modify book files. Convert documents form Microsoft Word to documentation software. Work with color palettes. Work with conditional text and determine applications of when to use it. Create Adobe Acrobat files to send out for printing. Convert documentation software files to HTML.

Prereqs: ARTC 1302, ITSE 2313, and ETWR 2301
