National Medical Coding Study Review

What skills will I learn?

You will be taught medical terminology, acronyms and abbreviations.  Understand different health insurance plans, such as HMO's, PPOs, Medicare and Medicaid.   You will also learn all aspects and procedures of a medical business office, including hands on training in Medisoft billing software and claims processing along with ICD and CPT Coding.

What jobs can I get?

You will be prepared for entry-level and advanced level positions hospitals, insurance companies, clinics, doctor's offices and other medical business offices.

How much can I earn?

Income will depend on what area of employment you choose.  Entry level base salaries can range from $22,900 to $30,000 per year.

When do I attend classes?

Day and evening classes are available.

How long are the program last?

The entire certificate program should take approximately six months.

How do I qualify?

Must be a high school graduate or have a GED
Must have an 8th grade reading ability

You may qualify for Workforce Investment Act Funding funding (WIA) if you are laid off, unemployed, underemployed, a single head of household, a dislocated worker, a displaced homemaker, or a TANF or food stamp recipient.  Inquire at your nearest WorkSource office.

When can I start?

Classes will run every spring, summer, and fall semester.

National Medical Coding Study Review

Prepare for NHA, AAPC and AHIMA certification with the HCC review class.  This is a four hour study group that provides tips, guidelines,  rules and other skills to help you pass your coding exam. The coding exam costs approximately $105.  For more information contact us at 713.718.8235.
