A.A.S.-Associate in Applied Science Degree This program prepares students for the many and varied jobs in Accounting. Graduates will be able to keep a set of books, assist in the Accounting department of larger companies and perform duties required of bookkeepers, junior or staff accountants. Some courses in this degree are NOT fully transferable. AA-Associate in Arts Degree This degree is offered for the student planning to continue his/her studies at a four-year institution. ALL courses are transferable. Accounting Certificate This certificate is offered for students who want to enhance their accounting studies, as well as their computer skills, both necessary in today’s workplace. CPA Qualifying Courses THE ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT OFFERS SELECTED COURSES THAT WILL QUALIFY FOR THE CPA EXAM. THE STATE OF TEXAS' STATE BOARD OF PUBLIC ACCOUNTANCY HAS ACCREDITED THESE COURSES FOR CPA CANDIDATES. FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION CONTACT DR. Be also proficient in Turbo Tax for individuals and corporations.
