Every
year, the HCC/SW Foreign Languages Department sponsors two ten-day study
trips—one in March and one in July—to Cuernavaca, Mexico’s
Spanish Language Institute.
Participants study 30 hours of Spanish at all levels and live with a selected Mexican family. Trip cost is about $1400 and is arranged through Dr. Janett Hillar, Study Trip Coordinator and Assistant Department Chair. She may be reached at janett.hillar@hccs.edu or at 713-718-7815. The web site for the Spanish Language Institute (SLI) is www.sli-spanish.com.mx. Each study trip includes visits to important archaeological sites such as the Teotihuacan Ruins, Taxco, Puebla, and Xochicalco, and famous museums such as The Mexican Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City. The city of Cuernavaca, 50 miles south of Mexico City, with a population of over a million, is known for its year-round “eternal spring” climate. The next trip dates are too be announced . Registration and application forms are available from Dr.
Hillar. Deadline for the next trip is to be announced. |
