As a student, you are responsible for your academic progress at Houston Community College. You must make decisions based on the information, alternatives, limitations, and possible consequences as you explore with your advisor. It is your responsibility to:

• Take personal responsibility for the evaluation of your academic progress
• Become familiar with resources on campus
• Become familiar with academic policy, program requirements (i.e., the catalog, schedule, handbook, etc.)
• Know your program’s graduation requirements
• Initiate and maintain regular contact with your counselor/advisor
